Fees/ Retained Support Contracts

Fees are normally charged on an hourly rate or lump sum. Limits of spend can be agreed on each stage of the work.

In addition to a wide variety of individual services, we offer annual support contracts fully tailored to our client`s requirements.

By taking out a retained contract, we will act as your Health and Safety Advisers and provide "competent health and safety advice" as required by UK legislation. Details of our qualifications and experience can be provided for tenders and health and safety questionnaires. We are proud to represent over 100 retained clients. 

Retained contracts normally start from just a few hundred pounds per year for a telephone/email support contract. However most firms need more help and many subscribe to our basic annual support contract, which includes the following: -

  • Keeping your Health and Safety documentation up to date. We visit you at least once per year and update your documentation. There are always changes in H&S legislation so your documentation ie. H & S Policies etc. needs updated annually.
  • Answer any questions on Health and Safety issues. There are four Health and Safety Consultants David Wilson CMIOSH, John Ross Grad IOSH, James Rice Grad IOSH & Sara Stewart Grad IOSH, in our office. One of us is always available in the office to answer any questions our Clients have on H&S issues.
  • Send you our monthly newsletter. Some of our Clients use our monthly newsletter for training purposes with their site operatives etc. .
  • Help you with investigating any accidents you may have. Our clients tend to have very few accidents but they like to know this service is available, if required.
  • Issue you with a letter confirming we act as your Health and Safety Advisers with a copy of my CV and Health and Safety qualifications. This is used for H&S questionnaires and PPQs. It is a legal requirement under the CDM Regulations 2015 that you have a source of competent H&S Advice. We provide you with that source of advice.
  • Issue you with a Toolbox Talk each month and Safety Alerts as is appropriate but usually at least monthly.
  • Advice on training including training required to comply with legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice. Also, training required for various accreditation schemes ie. Safecontractor etc.
  • Advice on accreditation schemes including Safecontractor, Acclaim, CHAS, Altius etc. Also, advice on how the SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) scheme operates

There are a variety of methods of payment for the service contracts including monthly and annual packages.
